Is the product compatible with Windows Vista?

Is the product compatible with Mac?

Yes it is. Mac users can use SnapMusic Studio 715 with Garage Band or Sound Studio.

Does the software enable you to get rid of crackle/ static sounds from the LP etc?

Yes it does.

Will it record live radio from my Hi Fi FM system?

Yes, it will record from any source with the correct connection/output.

Will this record to MP3 format so I can load it onto my iPod/ Sat Nav or would I still need to edit/convert imported material as a separate process?

Yes, you can record it and save it as MP3 directly. No extra editing/converting is necessary.

Do I need a microphone for SnapMusic Studio 715?

If you need to mix the microphone and other input source and record together, you have to connect your microphone and your other input source to SnapMusic Studio 715. However, if you need to use the built in microphone, you can record it first and save it as a track and record other input source as another track and mix them together using your editing software.

Does SnapMusic Studio 715 bypass the existing PC sound card? Is it difficult to disable the sound card?

When SnapMusic Studio 715 is connected it will usually override your PC sound card. Sometimes, a PC will not recognise an external source. You can only use one sound card at any given time; therefore you will need to disable your PC sound card. Disabling/re-enabling is simply done via a couple of clicks on sound and audio properties in the control panel.

If I copy songs from a vinyl to my PC, can I separate the songs then to transfer them to different CDs?

Yes, the software will automatically separate the songs.

Will it take the output of an "8 track"?

As long as there is a line level output on the device.

Is the product powered from the USB or is there an external power supply?

It is powered solely from the USB port. No external power supply is necessary.

Does SnapMusic Studio 715 have a Pre-amp already built in?

No it does not.

Is it the earphones socket on a tape player to which it has to connect in order to record an external source?

Usually a line out if available. If there is no line out, you can connect to the earphone socket. You need to get a Twin Phono to 3.5mm Stereo Jack lead.
